Toys, tunes and baby tv!
We found, and still do, that distraction is key when you have a baby who protests loudly about being strapped into something. The older a baby gets, the more things you can do to help entertain them during a difficult journey. Here are some of the best things we found to keep her happy while out and about:

- Music! We started playing our little girl's favourite nursery rhyme CD when we were in the car, and it really helped, especially if we gave her a selection of instruments (we found Hohner ones to be really good) for her to play along with. We really recommend the CD if you're not usually a fan of children's music - the songs are actually really well produced and not at all irritating!
- Touchy-feely books, particularly these, were another hit from when she was a young baby. They helped occupy her in the car, and we also found ones we could attach to her baby carriage and even to the straps of the slings we used.
- Toys that attach to the bars of the stroller or carseat are also well worth a try. See this Twisty Spiral . Another fantastic buy for fans of noisy toys is the My First Driver Stroller Toy - your baby will love feeling like they are in charge of the journey!
